This is the story of the 29th Armoured Brigade, engaged for the first time during operation Goodwood, seen through the eyes of the veterans, who take us along through their poignant accounts.
The author has sifted through nearly 400 pages of reports supplied by Sandhurst through Simon Trew and presents an extremely accurate account. It was also a gargantuan effort to reveal unpublished material about the biggest tank battle in Normandy.
In order to give his readers some new pictures on this subject, Didier Lodieu has rummaged around among the Imperial War Museum Archives and brought out some impressive shots taken by three war reporters.
