©Electre 2025

Twenty researchers, working in various parts of the world - Central Africa, India, Latin America, the Levant, North America, and Western Europe - have contributed to this collective tribute to Norman H. Anderson, the creator of a theory of human judgment known as Information Integration Theory. Each contributor recalls, often humorously, his or her first encounter with Norman Anderson (or his theory), as well as the way in which a scientific collaboration with him subsequently developed. Each contributor then presents a summary of a study or set of studies that seemed particularly illustrative of what this theory can contribute to understanding the complexities of human judgment when exercised in the great diversity of every-day situations.

The aim of the collection Psychologie et Vie Quotidienne is to explore the processes at work in the human mind and the behaviors that result from them throughout life, considering the physical and social environments in which they are developed and realized. This collection regularly publishes thematic works that provide expert insight into current issues, with contributions from researchers and practitioners in psychology and other disciplines.
